SPRING NET TEAM

 

Please consider signing up for a fun valley-wide competition that begins on April 4 and concludes on May 6! The Spring Net Team league is comprised of teams from nine country clubs:  Desert Princess, Monterey, Citrus, Palm Valley, Indian Wells, PGA West, Mountain View, Woodhaven, and Mission Hills - all located in the Coachella Valley. All matches are played on Monday or Thursday. Each team plays a total of eight matches. All matches are played away. Each team has one BYE and hosts one match. Our BYE is scheduled for Apr. 11, and we host (but do not play) on April 25, 2024.  

 

The Spring Net Team signup period opens November 15, 2023, and ends on February 29, 2024. A team orientation will be scheduled early in March. 

 

Eligible players must play to a handicap of 36 or under, and they cannot have participated on any other team during the season. However, if the registered team cannot field a full team, alternates (who may have played on another team this season) may be substituted. Any substitute can play only three times on Spring Net Team.  

 

Each team player plays 3 - 5 times per season (depending on availability). Players are required to buy a team shirt (generally around $30.00 from Amazon). When a team member plays, she pays $25-30 for cart fees and $30 for lunch (billed to your MH club number). 

 

The competition for Spring Net Team is Nassau Match Play. Each bracket is made up of two team members playing against two opponent team members.  Score one best ball net of each team on each hole. Players play off the lowest handicap player. The team winning the most holes on the front nine gets 1 point. The same applies for the back nine. The team winning the most overall holes front and back wins one point. If teams tie for overall wins, each gets ½ point. There is a total of 3 points available for each team/match.
